Those who have been working at Harrah’s/Harvey's for more than five
years can remember that our employer matched dollar for dollar for our
401K, up to 6% of our income. Whether you started recently or are a
veteran dealer, look at your 401k account over the past
several years, and calculate an extra 50 cents on the dollar for your
contribution. Instead of your $100 contribution getting $50 of company
funds to match for a total of $150, we used to have a dollar-for-dollar
match which would put the total at $200. In essence, we used to get an
extra dollar for every three dollars on the total over the past few
years. If we had a Contract, we may have been able to prevent our employer from unilaterally
reducing this benefit.
Without a Contract, they may
unilaterally cut their contribution to 25% or
even remove it altogether.
In order for there to be an election, you must submit your
authorization card.
