Can anybody name all of the general managers that Harrah's and Harvey's
have had over their career? We don't expect to have this Regional
President with us at Lake Tahoe for very long, buyout or not. The only
way to insure that any positive changes to policy are kept by future
general managers is with a Contract.
Every long-term dealer has seen numerous general managers, department
heads, and shift managers. It is true that the executive turnover is
higher
than most employees who prioritize being a part of this community. We
know and understand that this means that the local executives are
wondering about their own job security and how the buyout will affect
them. We cannot involve ourselves with whatever personal or professional issues they may
have, as they have shown little concern for how their cutbacks impact
our lives.
We will certainly still be living at Lake Tahoe long after our
general manager's replacement is named.
We will probably be
working at the same casinos
even
if management tampers with this process by
terminating us.
To Our Executives:
We don’t mean for this to sound callous, but you have
done your jobs as effectively as possible, as have we. Unfortunately,
your business decisions were made with an indifference to our community
in favor of gratifying Gary Loveman, the board, shareholders, and your
own bonuses. Any appeal to our sense of teamwork and looking out for the
greater good has only meant one thing: our sacrifice for your excessive
bonuses.
