Part-Time Dealers, which includes all Party Pit Dealers, have two additional issues on top of the Full-Timers’ issues, which are irregular schedules and lack of medical insurance. Sure, there’s a part-time "plan," but it does nothing to protect you or your family against major medical expenses. Get some stitches and a bruise, but try not to do anything that would risk landing yourself in a hospital bed, like leaving your home. Area employers like Casino Fandango, Crystal Bay Casino, and Tahoe Biltmore can offer their starting employees full-time status, so it will be difficult to convince anybody that Harrah’s cannot afford to hire all of its employees starting with full-time benefits as well.
