Union Busting

Do not believe what Management tells you.  OF COURSE they will mislead you about the Union...Management IS ANTI-UNION! 

     This section has expanded more than any other on the site.  Union busters are not webmasters' paranoid delusion.  They are real.  They are a major part of the reason why there are not more Unions in our country.  It is important for all of us to understand tricks that they play on us.

Your green cards and jobs will not be lost because of our Union! 

Harrah's told many of its Las Vegas Dealers lies about their green cards.

     The four video buttons (right) are all presented by the former Union buster, Martin Levitt.  He's also the man responsible for the book linked at the right.  The "Supervisor Video" on the right is a must-see.  While Mr. President and other executives were telling us what they thought of TWU, our Supervisors were undergoing their own "training."  It was not exactly educational for them.  They are being used by TPG/Apollo against our need for more rights.  Whether or not they realize it, "private equity billionaires" are using many in their position.

     Do you feel apprehensive about Unions?  Part of that is a product of Harrah's program of fear and manipulation.  Fear helps Harrah's retain its stranglehold over our professional situation.

     Quoting organizer Robert Meuhlenkamp, this describes the strategy of Union busters.  (page 75, Martin Levitt, Confessions of a Union Buster, emphasis ours)

Union busters wield great power through their program of terror and manipulation-people don't, can't possibly know what's going on and who's telling the truth.  You have to appreciate that most of the people [at the workplace] are just regular people...Their fondest wish after a few months of this is that it would just go away and go back to being like it was.  The union busters know this.  None of this is intellectual at all.  It works on the gut.

     If anybody other than a Dealer talks to you about Unions or TWU, be on guard.  This includes players (secret shoppers/busters) and Supervisors, who are forced to engage in Union busting against their will.  You will be putting Supervisors in a compromising situation if you discuss the Union in their presence.

     You may even have a "secret shopper" Union buster on your game asking for your opinion about Unions and planting false information.
