  Tip Stealing?

If the Nevada Supreme Court rules against the Wynn Dealers, Steve Wynn's tip policy will not be considered, by law, to be stealing!  This would open the door for Harrah's to do what it desires with our tips!  We can prevent Harrah's from seizing out tips.

They forced us to work hour-twenties to save a few dollars per day on each of us.  They froze our wages until this Union drive started, and that saved them about a dollar and a half per day on each of us.

By implementing the Wynn tip policy exactly as he did, Harrah's will be taking, depending on our daily earnings, anywhere from $10 to $100 out of our pockets on EVERY SINGLE SHIFT!  In turn, they will be cutting their payment of Supervisors' wages/salaries and using our tips to fill in the difference.  If that isn't bad enough, our toke cutters will lose their extra pay for the toke committee, and we will not even have access to the counting of our tips!

Based on Harrah's history, do you trust them?

We can see this one coming!

Caesars Palace Dealers have their best protection from this, but we still do not.  This is discussed elsewhere in this site, but it is essential for us to understand more about their situation and to understand that what happened at The Wynn can be prevented in Tahoe!  If we submit enough cards to TWU and get to petition for a vote, Harrah's will not be able to change policy without OUR permission, and we have Federal Law to back us.

It is still unclear to many people exactly what is happening at The Wynn and how this affects us.  Harrah's has issued conflicting statements which can be read here.  Despite all of the meetings and doublespeak, we have gotten NO LEGALLY BINDING GUARANTEES from Harrah's that they will not force this policy on us!  Mr. President spoke many times of how  Steve Wynn made a mistake, but he would not promise that Harrah's would not do such a thing!

Many Dealers do know that Steve Wynn took tokes from Dealers and has been redistributing them to Supervisors for over one year.  Right now, the Wynn dealers are fighting in Contract negotiations to get their money back.  What Harrah's does not want you to know:  if the Wynn Dealers had a Contract, seizing their tips would not have happened without their consent.  Once WE petition for a vote on our Union, Harrah's cannot change anything about our work situation, including the distribution of tokes.  Wynn Dealers have to fight to get their tokes back, but we will not be put in that position if we petition for a vote for TWU representation before Harrah's changes policy.

There is a case which will be decided in the Nevada Supreme Court that will determine whether or not what Mr. Wynn has done is legal.  Harrah's has not yet implemented Mr. Wynn's policy perhaps because its legality has not yet been determined.  If the Nevada Supreme Court, who has the last word, decides in favor of Mr. Wynn, it opens the door for ALL of the other casinos in the state to implement an identical or similar policy for those casinos without Union representation, and that includes us.

Submit your TWU card today to help prevent what Harrah's can do with your tips tomorrow.  We have the power to stop this policy from being forced upon us!  Once we petition for a vote, we do not have to fight to get anything back like they have to do at The Wynn.  "Status Quo" prohibits employers from changing policy once employees petition for a vote.

Wynn Dealers

There are rumors circulating about what is happening at The Wynn in Las Vegas.  We can set the record straight about anything.  Wynn dealers are in direct contact with us and have volunteered to help dispel any myths about what is happening within their workplace.

There was talk, but no promise of this never happening.

Do something to stop it.
