Wynn Dealer Feedback

The dealers of Wynn Las Vegas have their Union.  Despite Management's assertion, there are ongoing negotiations.

MTYH:   The situation at Wynn has been worse since the TWU came along.

What follows is a letter to you from a Wynn dealer

Since the union has come to Wynn Las Vegas the situation is a lot better.  We feel more secure in our jobs.  They can not fire us just because they want to.  They have to have a damn good reason.  They have backed off a lot since the union was voted in.  Things have been changed.  For one we had dealers from day one with the days of Friday and Saturday off.  While the extra board was working Thursday-Sunday.  They were usually working 3 out of 4 of those days and making more in 3 days then the full time dealers did in 5.  I was one of those full time dealers.  As soon as the TWU was voted in I got my days off changed.

The union busters you are going to get are sneaky.  They will tell you they are only there to listen to you.  They want to be your best friend.  Don't believe a word of it.  They can promise you everything and then give you nothing without a contract.  They are going to ask what the company can do to make you happy.  They are going to act like they care.  These people are making hundreds of thousands of dollars by the company.  Do you really think they are looking out for your best interests?

When the Hilton in Las Vegas was going to vote in the union in 2001, they brought back an old casino manager and paraded him through the casino and [led] all the dealers [to believe] if you vote no for the union we will bring back this beloved ex-casino manager.  They voted no and never saw that man again.  He never came back.  The union busters are going to fish what you think is wrong with your company and then use it to go for the people that are not quite sure if they want a union or not.  They are slick.  Just remember unless it is in a contract they can always change their minds.  As a Wynn dealer it says in my procedure book exactly how tokes are suppose to be counted, cut, and contributed by dealer and only dealers.  I guess it wasn't in a contract.  Stay Strong!!!!  Don't let them get to you.  Good Luck
